About Cambridge Broadband Fibre
Cambridge Fibre is a relatively new broadband provider, founded in 2016. The company is building a network of true full-fibre broadband around Cambridge and its surrounding areas. True full-fibre broadband offers guaranteed speeds and is faster than part-fibre or copper fibre broadband connections.
The company offers next-generation broadband to residential and commercial customers that comprises of ultrafast broadband, plus enterprise-grade services such as ethernet services and dark fibre. The company claims to be committed to developing and providing innovative, creative and reliable broadband services for new customers, whilst ensuring continuity and stability for existing customers.
Cambridge Fibre is actively laying its full-fibre cables throughout the city of Cambridge and neighbouring Ely. At the time of writing, they have 31km of full-fibre cable installed that has the ability to provide ultrafast broadband to over 2000 homes and 565 businesses in Cambridgeshire. They aim to give everybody access to hyperspeed or ‘gig’ broadband that is delivered over quality fibre.
Who is Cambridge Fibre?
Cambridge Fibre was founded in the city of Cambridge in 2016. All of their offices and staff are based in the city. There are two company directors – Catharina Mul and John McEleney. Their vision is that “the future is light” as customers can benefit from lightning-fast broadband services. The Cambridge Fibre website states they are a residential and corporate broadband provider and that the company was created by a team that is dedicated to leased-line services and full-fibre hyperspeed broadband.
Cambridge Fibre is privately owned and independently financed with no capitalist funding. The company claims this ensures they do not need to adopt aggressive sales strategies at the expense of customer service and long term growth.

Cambridge Fibre offers a range of broadband speeds all with unlimited usage (subject to a fair usage policy). As they offer true full-fibre rather than the current copper broadband or part-fibre cables, the broadband speeds offered are guaranteed. They offer packages with speeds from 200Mbps right up to one gigabit per second with four different residential packages available to suit all needs and budgets.
