How fast is Giganet?

Giganet provides 4 packages, all Full Fibre and ranging from a minimum of 80Mbps right up to 1Gbps- with an average speed of 900Mbps. How much does Giganet cost?

When considering the cost of full-fibre broadband it is important to understand that full-fibre is the next generation of broadband connection. Just like a new mobile phone, the newer it is the higher the price it carries. The same applies for speed, the faster you go, the more it will cost you. Giganet’s prices start at £45 per month for 80Mbps and goes up to £79 per month for 1Gbps. This isn’t the best pricing on the market for these speeds, with some Alt Nets like Pine Media offering 100Mbps for £30 per month. Although, Alt Nets such as Pine are not always as widely available as national providers. This makes price relative to the location rather than individual providers. There is also a £45 installation fee with each package. It is important to know that this is done as Openreach charge providers to open the line, and this charge is passed on to the customer.

The pricing will change based on if your looking to take out a Giganet package on their own network, CityFibre network or standard Openreach. This may also affect which packages are available to you.

How long is the minimum contract length with Giganet?

The average contract length with Giganet is 12 months, where as the shortest option is just one month. There are also 24 month options but both the 1 and 24 month contracts are only available for packages on the CityFibre Network. 

12 months is on the shorter end of the average contract length. This makes Giganet an ideal option for those looking to relocate or not stay somewhere longer than one year. 

The prices may be more expensive than alternative providers, but those other providers may not offer short contracts. So don’t be tempted to go with them just for the cheaper price as you could end up paying more in the long run.
